Solar Eclipse


South Carolina State University had the honor of opening the doors to the not only to the community of Orangeburg County but to all individuals across the nation who wanted to witness the Solar Eclipse. According to many news outlets, Orangeburg, S.C. was a prime location for viewing the Eclipse many people from all over the country filled Oliver C. Dawson Stadium for a memory that would last a life time. SC State had organized performances by the Universities Marching Band, the Marching 101, a DJ for musical entertainment, a Balloon Launch from the Stem program, and the cheerleaders kept the crowd motivated.

During this moment it was like the earth stop spinning for what seemed like forever but was only for a total of two minutes and 40 seconds, the moon completely blocked out the sun. The last time the United States saw a total eclipse was about 38 years ago. The picture is a shot of complete totality. Oliver C. It's not every day you get to witness something as fascinating as the eclipse. The event at SC State brought members from all over the community with one common goal which was to enjoy the moment.
