On behalf on the Bulldog Family and the Communications
department we would like to welcome our newest professor Ms. Tywanna Pryor. Ms. Pryor attended Edward Water College in
Jacksonville, FL on a softball scholarship where she would graduate with her
Bachelors in Mass Communications. The Jacksonville native got here first
internship while in college at new station, WJXT. After graduating Ms. Pryor
didn’t go straight until the field until nine months later when she received a
call from Midlands, Texas. The job was 22 hours away for a recent college grad
who had never lived outside the state of Florida. After her 2nd
phone interview, Pryor made the decision to leave Florida and began a career as
a reporter that would later on intel being a great decision. Overnight Pryor went from bartending to a one
year contract. Now, Midlands Texas being a startup market they were 178 on the
list so Pryor was one making 19,000, to make ends meet she saved every penny
and started back bartending on the weekends. After that one year contract was
up Pryor’s career continued to grow over the years she reported at another
station and produced at two more as well. Her last station was WJAX/WFOX a CBS affiliate
in Gainesville, FL number 47 on the market. Her duration with the CBS affiliate
was about 5 years where she had access to multiple things such as drone
video/footage. The drone footage came in handy when her station covered the
late story of Hurricane Irma. Out of one of four stations in Jacksonville, her
station was the only one to get live coverage of the Jacksonville native, Tim
Tebow. After assisting with her own alma mater with resume building and
mentoring, Pryor got the calling to be in the classroom again but on the other
side of the desk. After completing her Masters at Full Cell University in
August. She got her offer to be a part of Bulldog Country. Welcome to the
Family, Ms. Pryor.
